SEC May Add Claims To Galleon-Linked Insider Trading Case

Law360, New York (March 6, 2012, 3:35 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission may bring new insider trading claims against Galleon Group LLC-linked hedge fund manager Doug Whitman, a commission lawyer said Tuesday.

Whitman, who heads Silicon Valley-based Whitman Capital LLC, faces an SEC civil suit and criminal charges for allegedly trading Google Inc. stock based on illicit tips. The SEC is also investigating whether Whitman illegally traded other stock, a commission lawyer said at a conference in New York.
