Judge Pares Claims In Allstate Wildfire Suit

Law360, New York (March 7, 2012, 12:40 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Monday dismissed claims that Allstate Insurance Co. violated unfair competition laws in a proposed class action that alleges the company intentionally delayed payment of damage claims from a Los Angeles-area wildfire.

U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner granted Allstate’s motion to dismiss with prejudice the claims in light of the plaintiffs’ nonopposition, but other claims including breach of contract are still pending.
