Enviros Sue To Block Massive Calif. Development

Law360, New York (March 9, 2012, 1:54 PM EST) -- Environmental groups have sued Riverside County, Calif., and a local developer over the approval of a 5 million-square-foot new town adjacent to the Salton Sea they claim was granted without an appropriate environmental review, the plaintiffs' attorney said Friday.

The Sierra Club and the Center for Biological Diversity filed suit in Riverside County Superior Court on Wednesday, seeking an order for the county to vacate its Feb. 7 approval of Black Emerald Properties LLC's environmental impact report for the development.
