Spirit Airlines Accused Of Disguising $2 Fee As DOT Rule

Law360, New York (March 8, 2012, 10:45 PM EST) -- A customer hit Spirit Airlines Inc. with a proposed class action Thursday, claiming the budget airline added a $2 additional charge each way by disguising it as fees required by U.S. Department of Transportation rules that call for airlines to include taxes in displayed airfares.
