Android Makers Colluded To Boycott NPEs, Says Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (March 9, 2012, 1:16 PM EST) -- Motorola Mobility Corp. and HTC Corp. were among several Android device makers hit with an antitrust suit Thursday by a patent holding company that claims they have improperly conspired with patent aggregator RPX Corp. to refuse licenses from so-called patent trolls.

Motorola Mobility Corp., HTC Corp., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Dell Inc. and LG Electronics Inc. have all become members of RPX, which acquires patents and licenses for companies to help them avoid infringement suits by nonpracticing entities, also known as patent trolls, according to Cascades...
