Calif. County Wants Claims Cut Loose From Plasma MDL

Law360, New York (March 12, 2012, 4:50 PM EDT) -- California’s San Mateo County on Friday renewed its contention that state law claims brought on behalf of indirect purchasers should be transferred out of an Illinois multidistrict litigation over a purported price-fixing conspiracy by blood plasma producers.

In a reply brief, San Mateo asked the court to recommend that its indirect purchaser claims be transferred to a separate California federal court case, saying the court has already found that continued consolidation of the case would cause delay and complications.
