Ron Paul Can't Force YouTube, Twitter To Unveil Ad's Maker

Law360, New York (March 12, 2012, 6:39 PM EDT) -- Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul on Thursday lost a bid to force YouTube Inc. and Twitter Inc. to reveal the identities of individuals behind a campaign video targeting former candidate Jon Huntsman that falsely implied the Texas congressman created the ad.

U.S. District Judge Maria-Elena James denied Paul's ex parte application for expedited discovery without prejudice. The judge said the congressman had failed to prove that the video was commercial in nature, which was a necessary provision of a trademark violation.
