Texas Hospital Dodges $30M FCA Suit Over Drug Supplies

Law360, Washington (March 13, 2012, 2:51 PM EDT) -- A federal judge dismissed a whistleblower suit Monday that alleged a Texas hospital had falsely billed Medicare and Medicaid for up to $30 million worth of drugs, saying the case lacked details necessary to substantiate its claims.

Judge Harry Lee Hudspeth noted that the former pharmacist's suit filed against the Odessa, Texas, Medical Center Hospital District didn't have any evidence to tie a specific person, time period or drug amount to an alleged $30 million of false Medicare and Medicaid claims.
