Judge Cuts Battery Claim From 'Desperate Housewives' Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (March 13, 2012, 5:08 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Tuesday reportedly nixed Nicollette Sheridan's battery claim against “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry, leaving the jury to decide only if the actress was wrongfully terminated from the show.

Judge Elizabeth Allen White ruled that the jury would focus only on Sheridan's allegation that she was fired from the show after she complained about being struck on the head during an altercation with Cherry on Sept. 24, 2008, according to an Associated Press report.
