Sun Microsystems Sued Over Assembly Patent

Law360 (August 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Abstrax Inc. on Monday filed suit against Sun Microsystems Inc., claiming the computer component manufacturer’s method for assembling its products infringes on an Abstrax patent.

In a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Abstrax alleged that Sun sells products, including computers, that are made using methods described in its patent entitled “Manufacturing Method for Assembling Products by Generating and Scheduling Dynamically Assembly Instructions.”
