Kohl's Brings End To OT Class Action With Settlement

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 1:48 PM EDT) -- A class of Kohl's Department Stores Inc. employees on Thursday asked a California court to sign off on a settlement agreement resolving allegations that the retail chain violated state labor laws by shorting workers on overtime pay.

Putative class representative Melinda Croul said that the proposed $700,000 settlement fairly resolves allegations that Kohl's broke California labor law by misclassifying its assistant store managers as exempt from overtime, along with other state code violations.
