Gupta Says Wrong Man Is On Trial In Insider Trading Case

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 7:42 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors who charged former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. director Rajat Gupta with leaking inside information have collared the wrong man, Gupta's lawyer said Friday, claiming another source inside Goldman could be behind the illegal tips.

The evidence suggests that there is another man — so far known to the public only as Mr. X — who provided now-imprisoned Galleon Group LLC founder Raj Rajaratnam with confidential tips that have been blamed on Gupta, his lawyer Gary P. Naftalis of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP...
