Tappan Zee Draws 3 Bids, Samsung-Dragados Drops Out

Law360, New York (July 29, 2012, 9:26 PM EDT) -- Three of the four pre-qualified bidders submitted proposals on Friday to build the new Tappan Zee Bridge, vying for the estimated $5.4 billion design-build contract to replace the aging Hudson River crossing.

Infrastructure giants Skanska AB, Bechtel Corp. and Fluor Corp. form the backbones of the three partnerships competing for the project, which will be the first under new design-build legislation passed in Albany last December. A final decision on the winning bidder is expected in October, with groundbreaking by the end of the year....
