Hasbro Targets Asus In 'Transformers' Laptop Ban

Law360, Los Angeles (March 19, 2012, 9:33 PM EDT) -- Hasbro Inc. asked a California federal judge Monday to bar Asus Computer International Inc. from using the name 'Transformer' on a line of tablet-to-laptop transforming computers, saying the name infringes trademarks for the toymaker's popular shape-shifting robot franchise.

"The ‘Transformers’ mark has transcended well beyond being a children’s mark," Hasbro’s attorney Joshua Krumholz told U.S. District Judge Philip S.
