Judge Shoots Down Contractor's Air Force Insourcing Suit

Law360, New York (March 20, 2012, 3:58 PM EDT) -- A Washington federal judge on Monday tossed out defense contractor Fisher-Cal Industries Inc.'s lawsuit challenging the U.S. Air Force's decision to insource photography work at a base, ruling the dispute belonged in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Fisher-Cal, which did the photography work under contract for one year at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, claimed that the military violated its own rules when it chose to have U.S. Department of Defense staffers do the job. The Pentagon was required to conduct a cost-benefit analysis,...
