FedEx Delivers $3M To Settle Hiring Bias Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (March 22, 2012, 1:52 PM EDT) -- Two FedEx Corp. subsidiaries have agreed to pay $3 million to settle allegations they discriminated in hiring entry-level workers at 23 facilities in violation of an executive order barring discrimination by federal contractors, the U.S. Department of Labor announced Thursday.

The Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs said Thursday that FedEx Ground Package Systems Inc. and FedEx SmartPost Inc. have agreed to correct any discriminatory hiring practices, implement equal opportunity training, and pay $3 million in back wages and interest to more than 21,000...
