Hasbro Can't Kill Sales Of Asus 'Transformer' Laptops

Law360, New York (March 26, 2012, 7:52 PM EDT) -- Hasbro Inc. can't bar Asus Computer International Inc. from selling a line of tablet-to-laptop transforming computers using the name "Transformer," a California federal judge said Friday, ruling the laptops catered to a different class of purchasers than Hasbro's toy products.

U.S. District Judge Philip S. Gutierrez denied Hasbro's preliminary injunction request, saying the toy manufacturer had not shown evidence of irreparable injury and failed to demonstrate a likelihood of success on its infringement and trademark dilution claims.
