DC Tells 9th Circ. It Owns All Rights To Superman

Law360, New York (March 26, 2012, 9:26 PM EDT) -- Time Warner Inc.'s DC Comics told the Ninth Circuit on Friday that the heirs of Superman co-creator Jerome Siegel are not entitled to share the copyright for the iconic character because the late author created the superhero under a "work-for-hire" agreement with the comic house.

The company filed a brief in its challenge to a lower court's ruling that some of the Man of Steel comics were not created under a work-for-hire agreement. The court had ruled that part of Siegel's works fell under that designation...
