Fender, Others Pick At Antitrust Action’s Scanty Evidence

Law360, New York (March 27, 2012, 3:32 PM EDT) -- Guitar companies told a California federal judge on Monday that a proposed class of consumers failed to address a lack of evidence in their complaint accusing the businesses of conspiring to raise retail prices for guitars and amplifiers, asking that the suit be dismissed.

Fender Musical Instruments Corp., Guitar Center Inc. and others said in court filings that the proposed class had only shifted its argument rather than address the lack of evidence that the court had noted when it previously dismissed the suit in August....
