Judge Reheats Suit Over Canceled Paula Deen Tour

Law360, New York (March 27, 2012, 7:10 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Friday reopened what had seemed like a finished contract lawsuit between celebrity chef Paula Deen and an event promoter, saying he would stand by a written decision that contradicted an oral order throwing the case out.

U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein ruled from the bench March 7 that Deen had won a suit against tour promoter Celebrity Chefs Tour LLC, which was supposed to host a Deen tour but allegedly bounced a $150,000 deposit check.
