Gingrich Stares Down 'Eye Of The Tiger' Copyright Suit

Law360, New York (April 3, 2012, 5:01 PM EDT) -- Newt Gingrich on Tuesday fired back against a suit brought by Survivor band member Frankie Sullivan alleging the Republican presidential candidate unlawfully used "Eye of the Tiger" during campaign stops, saying even the song's co-author wasn't "on board" with the lawsuit.

In a response filed in Illinois federal court, Gingrich asked the court to provide an opportunity for discovery before considering a motion brought by Sullivan’s Rude Music Inc. seeking a court order striking Gingrich’s affirmative defenses to the suit's infringement claims.
