Clemens Strikes Back At US Attacks On Perjury Defense

Law360, New York (April 5, 2012, 1:11 PM EDT) -- Former Major League Baseball pitcher Roger Clemens cried foul Wednesday over what he called the government’s preemptive attack on his defense in a rebooted perjury trial accusing him of lying to Congress about his alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Clemens was charged with perjury in 2010 over statements he made to Congress during a 2008 hearing. The case ended in a mistrial in July after the prosecution presented the jury with information the court had deemed inadmissible, but a Washington federal judge gave prosecutors another shot,...
