CenturyLink Accused Of Falsely Advertising Internet Speed

Law360, Chicago (April 6, 2012, 2:12 PM EDT) -- Telecommunications giant CenturyLink Inc. on Wednesday was zapped with a putative class action in Florida federal court alleging it misled consumers by falsely advertising the speed of its Pure Broadband wireless Internet service.

Plaintiff Jonathan Paugh alleges that while CenturyLink markets the service as providing consistently fast speed regardless of the time of day or amount of internet traffic, the company "has not provided and could not provide Internet services as advertised."
