Contractor Says NYC's Enviro Delays Bled It Of $32M

Law360, New York (April 6, 2012, 1:56 PM EDT) -- Contractor John P. Picone Inc. lodged a breach of contract suit on Wednesday alleging New York City cost the company $32 million through project delays stemming from the city's failure to follow environmental regulations.

The project upgrading the Tallman Island Water Pollution Control Plant in Queens was held up for more than a year and a half by several stop-work orders issued by the city because it was unable to secure and comply with a Title V permit under the Tidal Wetlands Act, according to the...
