Employer Groups Urge Calif. Court To OK Time Rounding

Law360, New York (April 10, 2012, 4:03 PM EDT) -- A trio of employer associations on Monday urged a California appeals court to overturn a ruling that See's Candy Shops Inc. had violated state law by rounding employee time entries, saying it would lead to an onslaught of class actions against Golden State employers.

The California Superior Court in San Diego County held that See's could not rely on two rounding affirmative defenses in a wage-and-hour class action against the company, finding the candy maker's policy of rounding employee time entries to the nearest six minutes...
