Becton Claims Sterling Compliance, Slams Suits

Law360, New York (August 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Becton Dickinson & Co. on Friday slammed three suits that accused it of stifling competition from other hypodermic product makers, denying that it has done anything wrong and averring that the plaintiffs—among them wholesalers, pharmacies, and hospitals—had no standing to sue.

The suits, which alleged that the New Jersey-based company controlled a dominant share of the market for syringes and catheters by conspiring to fix prices and by bundling, were filed last year by wholesalers, pharmacies and hospitals.
