Espadas Fight Use of Credit Card Info In Corruption Case

Law360, New York (April 12, 2012, 8:21 PM EDT) -- Former New York state Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. and his son on Wednesday blasted prosecutors' attempts to introduce credit card charge summaries allegedly seized from Espada's nonprofit health care network as evidence in a case accusing the duo of embezzlement and bid rigging.

Attorneys for Espada Jr. and his son Pedro G. Espada told a New York federal judge that prosecutors had not established the authenticity of the documents the government purportedly recovered from Soundview Healthcare Network through a search warrant.
