Prince Ordered To Pay $3.9M For Balking On Perfume Deal

Law360, New York (April 13, 2012, 4:51 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge on Friday agreed with the recommendation of a special referee and ordered pop icon Prince to pay over $3.9 million for failing to make good on an endorsement deal to promote perfumes named after the musician's albums.

Special Referee Louis Crespo previously found that Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. relied on the promises of Prince in its choosing to market and develop its 3121 fragrance and that the fraudulent inducement, fraud and tortious interference by Prince caused Revelations to suffer losses,...
