Walgreen Bias Suit Tossed For Being Thin On Details

Law360, New York (April 18, 2012, 2:37 PM EDT) -- A Chicago federal judge threw out a putative class action Tuesday that accused drugstore giant Walgreen Co. of discriminating against Latino corporate staff members, holding that the ex-workers' claims were light on specific factual allegations.

But while U.S. District Judge George Lindberg granted Walgreen's dismissal bid, in which the company argued that the plaintiffs had failed to plead facts sufficient to state a claim, he did so without prejudice, leaving the door open for the plaintiffs to lodge an amended complaint by May 1.
