Cadwalader Says Evidence Misread In $70M Nomura Suit

Law360, New York (April 20, 2012, 6:35 PM EDT) -- Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP asked a New York state appeals court on April 16 to re-evaluate evidence that the firm allegedly gave Nomura Asset Capital Corp. bad advice about a securitized hospital loan, saying that its advice was "unquestionably correct."

On Jan. 11, Judge Melvin L. Schweitzer refused to grant Cadwalader summary judgment, saying that "issues of fact abound" in the case over a $50 million mortgage loan on an Illinois hospital that Cadwalader said was eligible for federal tax benefits based on an appraisal....
