Airlines Push For Summary Judgment In DVT Cases

Law360, New York (August 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Delta Air Lines Inc. and US Airways Inc. have fired back at objections to their summary judgment bids by two plaintiffs who claim flying caused deep vein thrombosis, arguing that the plaintiffs have failed to show that an accident occurred during their flights.

In separate motions filed Thursday, Delta and US Airways pressed the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California to grant them summary judgment in the multidistrict litigation as they cast aside plaintiffs’ calls for additional discovery as unwarranted.
