Calif. Panels Pass Cap-And-Trade, GHG Reduction Bills

Law360, New York (April 24, 2012, 7:05 PM EDT) -- Three bills passed through two committees in the California legislature on Monday that aim to make use of revenue generated from the state's cap-and-trade auctions, despite opposition from manufacturers and the state's Chamber of Commerce.

The Assembly Natural Resources Committee passed A.B. 1532 and A.B. 2404, both in 5-3 votes, while the Senate Environmental Quality Committee approved S.B. 1572 in a 5-2 vote.
