Movie Studios In FCPA Spotlight For China Dealings

Law360, New York (April 24, 2012, 9:49 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission reportedly is investigating possible Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations in China by at least five major movie studios, including The Walt Disney Co., DreamWorks Pictures and News Corp.'s Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp.

The SEC has sent letters over the past two months asking about possible inappropriate payments and the companies' relationships with government officials in China, according to a Tuesday report by Reuters citing a person familiar with the matter.
