Chrysler, Retailer Settle 'Imported From Detroit' Slogan Row

Law360, New York (April 25, 2012, 4:00 PM EDT) -- Chrysler Group LLC and retailer Pure Detroit agreed Wednesday to settle a Michigan suit over Pure Detroit's sale of shirts and bags emblazoned with the carmaker's tagline, "Imported from Detroit," which premiered in a two-minute Super Bowl commercial featuring the rapper Eminem.

Having settled the case, the two companies filed a joint motion to vacate a June order denying Chrysler a preliminary injunction against Moda Group LLC, which does business as Pure Detroit, after U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Tarnow found Chrysler had failed to show...
