MPS Claims O2 Micro’s Patent Is Unenforceable

Law360, New York (August 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Monolithic Power Systems Inc. has accused O2 Micro International Ltd. of obtaining its inverter controller patent through inequitable conduct, pressing a federal court to declare that the patent is unenforceable in MPS’ declaratory judgment suit.

MPS urged the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday to render O2 Micro’s patent, U.S. Patent No. 6,396,722, unenforceable, claiming that the patentee intentionally withheld information from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office during the prosecution of the patent.
