Former Naval Engineer Indicted In $10M Bribery Case

Law360, New York (April 26, 2012, 7:52 PM EDT) -- A Rhode Island federal grand jury on Thursday indicted former naval engineer Ralph Mariano for conspiracy and theft of government funds among other charges associated with an alleged $10 million bribery and fraud conspiracy.

According to the 37-count indictment against Mariano and his father Ralph Mariano Jr., Mariano participated in a 15-year scheme that illegally funneled him millions in federal money in exchange for using his position as a senior systems engineer and civilian program manager with the U.S. Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command to help...
