Lampoon CEO Can't Hush Wiretap In $230M Fraud Case

Law360, New York (April 26, 2012, 10:29 PM EDT) -- An Indiana federal judge on Thursday denied National Lampoon Inc. CEO Timothy Durham's motion to suppress wiretap evidence obtained during prosecutors' investigation of his alleged $230 million scam, saying the evidence had been collected in a legitimate manner.

U.S. District Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson rejected Durham’s argument that the government had used the wiretap without first showing that attempts to use ordinary law enforcement techniques had failed, and that the wiretap was therefore inappropriate.
