Conceptus Shuns $19M IP Deal As Rival Pulls Contraceptive

Law360, New York (April 30, 2012, 2:33 PM EDT) -- Contraceptive maker Conceptus Inc. said Monday it would not collect $19 million in damages awarded by a California federal jury in a patent infringement suit, after Hologic Inc. agreed to take its allegedly infringing product off the market.

Under the terms of the settlement, the two sides would file a joint motion to dismiss the patent infringement suit and would remove their respective appeals of the jury verdict, which was handed down in October after the panel found Hologic had infringed claims of a valid Conceptus...
