Call Center Co. Accused Of Improperly Recording Consumers

Law360, New York (April 30, 2012, 1:39 PM EDT) -- Call center operator GC Services LP was hit with a putative class action in California federal court Thursday accusing it of illegally recording phone calls without properly informing consumers on the other end of the line.

A pair of California residents claim they verified confidential information over the phone after being contacted in March by GC Services, which performs accounts receivable management and other customer care services for businesses, and were told only later that the call was being monitored and recorded, the complaint said....
