2nd Circ. Backs Fee Order Against Nokia In Wireless IP Fight

Law360, New York (May 1, 2012, 3:32 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit on Monday upheld a lower court's ruling that gave Nokia Corp.’s $500,000 preliminary injunction bond to wireless technology research group InterDigital Inc. in a wireless patent dispute, saying InterDigital's arbitration costs alone justified the award.

In a summary order, the appeals court ruled that the district court had not abused its judgment by reasoning that at least $500,000 of InterDigital’s “well-substantiated damages” were likely caused by the imposition of a preliminary injunction.
