Judge Sets Up $21M Fund For Welding Fumes MDL Plaintiffs

Law360, New York (May 1, 2012, 7:27 PM EDT) -- An Ohio federal judge on Friday established a distribution mechanism for a $21.5 million resolution agreement in a sprawling multidistrict litigation over allegedly hazardous welding fumes, announcing that the money will be allocated by an independent claims administrator.

U.S. District Judge Kathleen M. O'Malley set up the Welding Fume Resolution Fund and named David R. Cohen administrator, granting him the authority to determine how the funds should be dispersed, finding that the fund is in the best interest of all parties.
