Bigelow In Hot Water Over Tea's Antioxidant Claims

Law360, New York (May 3, 2012, 6:30 PM EDT) -- R.C. Bigelow Inc. was hit with a putative class action Wednesday in California federal court alleging the tea company made illegal and misleading health claims about antioxidants even after other tea makers were warned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration about similar claims.

Named plaintiff Alex Khasin says Bigelow touts the ability of antioxidants in tea to fight the effects of aging, boost the immune system and reduce the risk of cancer.
