Chelsea Hotel Landlord, Tenants Reach Repair Deal

Law360, New York (May 7, 2012, 5:55 PM EDT) -- The owner of New York City's iconic Chelsea Hotel has reached a deal with a group of more than 30 tenants to address mold and asbestos issues and mitigate dust from ongoing construction, attorneys for both parties confirmed Monday.

A day after local politicians, including City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, took the the sidewalk in front of the historic building to pressure owner Joseph Chetrit to clean it up, the parties met in housing court and left several hours later with a consent order.
