TV Networks Urge Judge To Block Internet Streamer Aereo

Law360, New York (May 10, 2012, 1:35 PM EDT) -- The big three TV networks on Wednesday asked a New York federal court to block Aereo Inc. from offering its paid service that streams their programming online, saying the retransmissions threaten their copyrights.

CBS Broadcasting Inc., NBCUniversal Media LLC and American Broadcasting Cos. Inc., as well as Fox Television Stations Inc., Univision Television Group Inc. and Public Broadcasting Service, claim Aereo’s online streaming service violates their rights to the public performance of their copyrighted programming normally broadcast over the air.
