Judge Kills Copyright Suit Against Facebook Author

Law360, New York (May 10, 2012, 2:33 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Wednesday tossed allegations that author Ben Mezrich stole material from a former Harvard classmate of Mark Zuckerberg when writing his best-selling book about the tumultuous start of Facebook Inc.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert B. Collings dismissed Aaron Greenspan's infringement suit claiming Mezrich's 2009 “The Accidental Billionaires” — which was later adapted into the Oscar-winning film “The Social Network” — borrowed heavily from Greenspan's self-published 2008 book about the much-documented founding.
