Ex-Marvell Tech Manager Avoids Prison For Insider Trading

Law360, New York (May 9, 2012, 8:54 PM EDT) -- A former Marvell Technology Group Ltd. manager on Wednesday was sentenced to two years of probation for his “modest” role in an insider trading scheme in which he leaked confidential tips about his employer to a former consultant at Primary Global Research LLC.

Stanley Ng, who pled guilty in December to one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud, had faced six to 12 months in prison for his role in the scheme, but U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff noted Ng’s limited role in the insider...
