Pentagon's IG Says $519M Air Force Contracts Justified

Law360, New York (May 11, 2012, 2:41 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Defense's Office of the Inspector General on Thursday said that $519 million worth of noncompetitive Air Force aeronautical systems contracts awarded in 2010 and 2011 were properly approved by the service's contracting personnel.

An audit of 23 sole source contracts revealed that the Air Force's Aeronautical Systems Center included all required data elements, obtained approval from the proper authorities and complied with Federal Acquisition Regulation policies and procedures, according to the DOD's Office of the Inspector General.
