AUO Exec Says DOJ Overreaching In Bid To Bar Hogan Atty

Law360, New York (May 14, 2012, 10:28 PM EDT) -- Convicted AU Optronics Corp. executive Hui Hsiung accused the government Monday of overstating the reach of ethics law to bar him from hiring Hogan Lovells attorney Neal Katyal even though the former acting solicitor general worked not on the price-fixing prosecution but on a related appeal.

The U.S. Department of Justice has asked the California federal court overseeing the liquid crystal display panel price-fixing case to block Katyal from representing defendant Hsiung because the attorney was counsel of record for the government during the final stage...
