Judge Refuses To Rethink Parmalat Units' Cases

Law360 (September 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two insolvent Parmalat SpA subsidiaries have failed to rescue their securities lawsuits against six of the Italian dairy giant's biggest former financial partners, with a federal court judge refusing to rethink his order to toss the actions.

Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday declared the motion for reconsideration “without merit.” He also denied the request for time to file new amended complaints, saying that another leave would take the case “a step too far.”...
