STMicro Hits InvenSense With Suit Over MEMS Patents

Law360, Los Angeles (May 18, 2012, 3:33 PM EDT) -- An STMicroelectronics NV subsidiary launched a lawsuit in California federal court Wednesday alleging motion-tracking device maker InvenSense Inc. has infringed nine patents covering microelectronic mechanical systems.

InvenSense has sold more than 110 million units of so-called MEMS products that are incorporated in smartphones, tablets, personal media players, video game consoles, still cameras, remote controls and other consumer electronic devices, the suit says.
